Track Wise

Antennas

We have built our worldwide reputation on our expertise in the production of microwave and radio-frequency PTFE printed circuit boards for broadcast and cellular base-station antennas, which often call for very large boards. We also produce PCBs for many other wireless and microwave industry applications.

Trackwise antenna PCBs range from very small chip-sized terminal antennas (for PCMCIA cards etc) through patch and panel versions (for WiFi, WIMAX etc) to the largest GSM base station antenna or FSS (frequency selective surface), and are based on PTFE, FR4 and flexible substrates.

Boards up to 2.8m

Many of the world's leading cellular service providers use Trackwise’s advanced PCBs in their antennas.  The PCB represents a small part of the total cost of an antenna, but a large proportion of its overall performance.  Trackwise has developed the manufacturing process and technologies needed to produce boards up to 2.8m long - much larger than those of most other manufacturers.  These are specifically designed for base-station antennas and fabricated on a variety of radio frequency materials to suit the application.

Traditional antennas

Operating within a frequency range of 900-1800 MHz we manufacture boards typically from 1-2 metres length but up to 2.8 metres. Normally 2.5 to 3.0 dk, utilizing PTFE for high power, single, dual, and tri-band systems.  Power can be increased to extend the signal.

Transit and receive antennas

For GSM applications we offer antennas in the range 2.5 to 3.0 dk, typically 75-100mm in length.  These are typically shorter for greater control and can be remotely tilted.  They have more associated patches, typically built from PTFE.

3G antennas

Trackwise can offer a range of solutions for voice and digital traffic to be transmitted and received.  Our 3G PCB antennas are typically 2.5 GHz upwards with boards 900mm to 1100mm.  Approximately three times as many are needed as with normal voice antennas. Typically built from PTFE.

Point-To-Point antennas

Normally used for point-to-point internet access, these units offer frequencies between 2.6 and 3.6 GHz and are 600-900mm in length.  They are usually built from foam-type materials for reduced cost whilst maintaining performance. Dielectric constant for point-to-point boards is 1.15 to 1.35dk.

Product quality and repeatability

Our products are typically used within a broad range of antenna systems in the frequency range of 380MHz to 5.1GHz.  Our capability ranges up to tens of GHz.
