Since 1996 Trackwise have been manufacturing PCBs for infrastructure antennas for cellular telephone networks and our products are in operation across the world.

Power amplifiers

An amplifier is one of the most common electrical elements in any system. The requirements for RF power amplification are as varied as the systems where they are used. An amplifier may be a device capable of amplifying extremely small signals with very low noise at the output (low noise amplifier), or they can be tailored such maximum output power is obtained (power amplifier).

We manufacture antenna PCBs for advanced Wi-Fi wireless broadband base stations operating in the 2.4 and 5 GHz unlicensed bands, as well as 700MHz licensed band.

Security

UAV sub-systems

A recent process innovation has extended our capability to the manufacture of flexible multilayer printed circuit boards of any length, more than 8m/300 inches in length, making these the world’s largest flexible multilayer PCBs. The use of flexible multilayer PCBs can generate up to 75% weight saving as compared to traditional wiring harnesses. In high value, mass-critical applications such as UAV sub-systems this represents a significant opportunity to improve system performance.

Counter surveillance

Trackwise manufacture antenna PCBs for a wide range of counter surveillance devices. These electronic device detectors are capable of detecting electronic devices whether they are a transmitting or hardwired, regardless if they are switched on or off. In order to optimise system performance, a highly precise and ‘clean’ antenna PCB is required.

Electronic counter measures

Effective countermeasures for military operations are becoming mandatory as commercially available RF products continue to be used by insurgents to set off IEDs, ‘the road side bomb’. Antennas used for IED countermeasures must provide high efficiency coupled with exceptional ground area coverage. The radiation patterns must be consistent across the whole band of operation.

Communication antennas

Our antenna PCBs are used in military and defence applications such as tactical communications (video and data uplinks, WLAN, telemetry) in C-Band (4.4-5.0GHz). PCBs are used in flat-panel antennas that are slim and discreet where either a covert or aesthetic appearance is required, while still providing the highest specification and robust construction. The gain of the antenna is determined by the number of elements and flat panel antennas can be highly directional with narrow azimuth and elevation radiation patterns.

Marine

Satellite antennas

Most mobile satellite antennas are portable parabolic dishes that are not compatible with the marine environment. Using flat panel phased array technology, our microstrip patch PCBs are used for low profile and lightweight antennas for Ku Band communication (live satellite TV and data reception) to fast moving vehicles of all sizes.

Radar antennas

A typical marine radar antenna rotates on a vertical axis, scanning 360° of azimuth about every 2 seconds. It radiates a narrow vertical fan-shaped beam of microwaves horizontally toward the horizon, perpendicular to the long axis of the antenna. As with other antenna PCBs manufactured by Trackwise, our marine radar customers require precision-etched circuits on quality RF laminates in order to guarantee their antenna performance.

Satellite antennas

Most mobile satellite antennas are portable parabolic dishes that are not compatible with the transportation environment. Using flat panel phased array technology, our microstrip patch PCBs are used for low profile and lightweight antennas for Ku Band communication (live satellite TV and data reception) to fast moving vehicles of all sizes.

Anti collision radar

Radar technology is starting to be developed for use in motor vehicles, mainly in the interests of road safety:

Automatic Cruise Control 'long-range radar' operating at 77 GHz. This enables a vehicle to maintain a cruising distance from a vehicle in front.

Anti-collision 'short-range radar' operating at 24 GHz and 79 GHz. This is being developed as part of a system to warn the driver of a pending collision, enabling avoiding action to be taken.

Aerospace

Avionics
FSS – frequency selective surfaces

FSS are filters resulting from regular patterns of metallic grids printed on an insulating substrate which, by their design, either allow specific frequencies of incident radiation to be either reflected or to be transmitted though the filter with minimal absorbtion.

Our capability of precision imaging and etching of large areas of flexible PCB substrate – up to 2800mm*610mm – is ideal for frequency selective surfaces.

Aircraft guidance radar

TACAN (Tactical Air Navigation) is a military aircraft navigation system working in the UHF band which gives to a pilot continuous information as to his range and bearing from a beacon. The ground equipment – for which Trackwise supplies antenna PCBs - consists of a beacon; bearing information can be obtained by the pilot without interrogation since the beacon is continuously transmitting.

Industrial

RF Slip Rings (medical)
Inductive position sensors

We manufacture PCBs for non-contacting inductive position sensors which provide benefits including high accuracy, stability irrespective of environmental conditions, measurement performance largely independent of installation tolerances, insensitivity to foreign matter (contamination), no need for bearings, bushes or seals.

Ground penetrating radar

Ground Penetrating Radar is a geophysical method that uses radar pulses to image the subsurface, detecting subsurface objects, structures, changes in material, and voids and cracks.

Trackwise manufacture PCBs for ground penetrating radar systems, all working on the principle of a transmitter that emits electromagnetic waves that are reflected by the target and detected by a receiver. When transmitting into the ground, the signal will be reflected whenever the signal velocity changes, thus changes in soil type and buried objects will result in reflection of the radar signal.
