Low PIM antenna PCBs
The antenna PCB, whilst by no means the sole contributor to PIM, is nonetheless a critical component in the performance of the cellular communication system.
Trackwise has invested many hours into testing and developing a deep understanding of the design and manufacturing parameters that can affect the PIM performance of antenna PCBs. In 2017, we further developed our capability, bringing testing in house with the purchase of Rosenberger multi frequency PIM testing equipment.
As PIM levels of -115 dBm/-158 dBc and lower are increasingly becoming a necessary performance requirement of RF components, we have considerable experience and expertise in meeting the fine parameters and consistency of manufacture required to produce low PIM antenna PCBs.
PIM Research
We are proud to have partnered in the IEEE award-winning research programme ‘Mechanisms of Passive Intermodulation and means for mitigation on printed and layered transmission lines’ led by Queen’s University Belfast and funded by EPSRC. Research was carried out at the Institute of Electronics, Communications and Information Technology (ECIT) www.ecit.qub.ac.uk.
