Trackwise Announces Record-Breaking 100-Metre Multi-Layer Flexible Circuit for Industrial Customer

Stonehouse, UK – Amphenol Trackwise Designs, a global leader in the design and manufacture of advanced flexible printed circuit boards (PCBs), has announced the successful manufacture of a 100-metre-long multi-layer flexible circuit. This flexible printed circuit is for the same industrial customer it supported with its record-breaking 72-metre project. Produced in March 2025, the new circuit demonstrates Trackwise’s continued ability to deliver ultra-long flexible electronics for demanding industrial applications.
The 100-metre circuit was manufactured using Trackwise’s Improved Harness Technology (IHT). IHT enables the continuous roll-to-roll production of long-length flexible printed circuits beyond the limitations of conventional PCB panel sizes. The latest achievement builds on the company’s previous milestone and further highlights the scalability of its manufacturing platform.
The circuit was designed to meet the extreme design criteria essential for the end application, where any deviation from the required copper thickness would have rendered it unusable. Trackwise’s reel-to-reel manufacturing process delivered constant copper thickness across and along the manufactured part to within +/- 5um over the entire length, a capability that Trackwise believes it alone can deliver worldwide.
Philip Johnston, Trackwise’ Business Unit Director, said: “This latest project underlines the capability of our technology and the strength of our relationship with this important industrial customer. Manufacturing a 100-metre multi-layer flex circuit is a significant achievement and shows how Trackwise continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in flexible circuit production.”
